First off, it sounded from some of the Chapter headings that this book was going to slam Margaret Thatcher, but it was quite even-handed in writing about her life.The disloyalty of politicians and voters to people who give up their very lives for the good of their country, is hard to read about and appreciate. Margaret Thatcher's career is well-portrayed, including her triumphs and many difficulties during her decade as Prime Minister of Great Britain. A great shame that she had to make the hard decisions (like Churchill) and was not well respected for it. But at least only she, Winston Churchill and Lord Horatio Nelson in the past 200 years received a ceremonial funeral with military honors in Great Britain. At least Queen Elizabeth knew that honor should be bestowed on "The Iron Lady".
Politics is not a clean game and this book does not hide those facts.

I thought the book a series of headlines and Sunday drivel. To understand Thatcher, you have to understand the times, the atmosphere. The Lady was indeed bigger than life and impacted the United States and indeed the world in a manner which challenges the greats of the twentieth Century. To attempt to profile her career and impact within a "Classic Comic Book" is the same as saying "Gunga Din" explains Rudyard Kipling. Interesting but leaves one thirsty.
Short but very revealing account of life in Britain as the the cold war wound down by one of the key players.
The book "Margaret Thatcher" brought into focus just how intelligent and caring a woman M.T. was. I was very interested to learn many facts about her background and home life that I hadn't known before. I believe history will be very kind to this intelligent and dedicated woman.
Strangely, when men are so dedicated to serving their country they are immediately lauded. When women are dedicated they are in a classification that is anything but flattering. I wish I had known Margaret Thatcher personally and been able to hear more of her views on this world we live in and heard her advice on achieving world peace.
This is an excellent book. I have always been interested in Margaret Thatcher. She was well deserving of her title "TheI Iron Lady"l She is to be admired very smart . She knew that the government was not the answer to all the problems you have to sit back and let industry take care of financial problems provide jobs for the unemployed it's not the governments job. There are some friends that I can recommend this book to however there are many people that would not even contemplate reading this book because they are so biased and they wouldn't even realize reading it they might learn something
I loved this book, only around 100 pages allowed me to finish in 2 days and now I feel like I’ve known her forever! Straight to the point and short chapters held even my attention. This is great for someone who loves history, politics, government and great leaders that were also women. I loved that she had style.
This should be required reading for all politicians.
Too bad there are not more Margaret Thatchers in this world.
Excellent read and can be read in a day.
This book takes the reader from Mrs. Thatcher's life as a young girl to the strong willed woman she was through out her many years as the Prime Minister and beyond. The biographer allows you to see the good and bad decisions she makes during her political career. As you read each chapter, you begin to understand the how & why somethings happened during the Thatcher years.This is a definite read for those who love reading biographies or those who want to learn more about the "Iron Lady", Prime Minister of England.
